由紅色棉布帶，表面紅、黃、白、綠、黑色繡線繡有細緻的菱形、三角和交叉紋裝飾，飾帶前端附有一小型有蓋皮袋，內部一般裝有鐵片和石頭等打火器，但本件為空袋。胸飾帶頸部拼接黑白印花布塊，一側縫有一束紅綠黃色布條流蘇作為垂飾。這些彩帶般的流蘇具有守護戰鬥和驅斜的意義。此種火具袋為鄒族男子專用，稱為「popususa」。據說過去過去出草時，軍事領袖從存放在男子會所的部落共同火器箱「ketpu no popususa」逐一取出火器袋胸飾，並分發給每一個戰士，並用芙蓉皮剝製之一小束纖維染紅製成「fukuo」，作為戰士的護身符（王嵩山1989：9-11）。因此，此種火器袋胸飾，具有象徵鄒族男子戰士氣概的意義。
