圓形貝板耳飾 / Rounded Shell-Disc Ear Plugs

一對白色圓形貝板耳插，貝板後端以鐵絲穿接一支圓柱形貝柱，以便配戴時穿過耳洞。此種圓形貝板耳插是北部山區泰雅、賽德克、太魯閣與賽夏族男性盛裝時配戴的耳飾。這件物品也是1910年倫敦日英博覽會後，由臺灣總督府捐贈給大英博物館。
A pair of ear plugs made of round-shaped shell plates. A cylinder shaped shell tube is attached to a plug in an ear piercing. The round-shaped plugs were popular among the Atayal, Seediq, Truku, and Saisiyat men for decoration. They were donated to the British Museum by the Formosan Government after the 1910 Japan-British Exhibition.
